Positive Thinking
Positive Thinking: Positive thinking as everyone knows is a good and important thing in your life. Positive thinking affects your mood greatly. When you positive self talk it can relieve stress. When you are lower rates of anxiety and depression and just over all make life better. Positive thinking has actually helped me lots before for many things that where both big and small. If you always positive think then almost nothing will get you down and you can live life to the fullest. Negative Thinking: Negative thinking can be bad for the body. This can make you stressed which can lead to many different things. This can also make you scared and depressed and even give you anxiety. All of these things are bad because they can lead to many different things that could be bad for you. With anxiety you'll have troubles making friends and being stressed can cause rapid weight gain or loss and so forth.
My Blueprint
Learning Styles- I learn by Looking, Seeing, Touching, Doing, Hearing, Listening. I have found out I'm 35% visual, 34% kinaesthetic, and 31% auditory. I agree with this because I really like learning with my hands and having hands on projects to work with as well as a fun but short presentation to go along with it. Personality- I'm Introverted, Intuiting, Felling, and Perceiving. I agree with this because Im always aware of most things around me, I can be very shy and introverted, I'm good at figuring things out as well and I care about peoples feelings and my own. Interests- I am artistic and Investigative. I highly agree with this because two of my main hobbies are musical (guitar and piano) and those two things are very artistic and I get very creative with it. I am ver investigative, I always like trying to look for new things and concepts and all the stuff like that. Knowledge- My top subject areas are Technical and trades, Creative arts, and Computers. I agree with this because all of it requires some sort of designing or and creating products. Technical and trades involve foods and I highly enjoy cooking and baking. Creative arts involve music and I love playing the guitar and piano and thats why I highly agree. Motivations- What motivates me most is being independent. I agree with this because I like working independently and doing things at my speed in the order I want the way I want to do it with a small outline to guide me a tiny bit.
My Lent Responses
1) Resistance: Resistance is like procrastinating. When you resist you are procrastinating and putting things off to the last minute. A good example of this in the video is waking up and hitting the snooze button on the alarm and going back to bed, what you are doing is resisting or procrastinating to wake up. What the Quote "resistance is the slayer of dreams" to me means that if you resist or procrastinate then you could miss a dream opportunity in your life, an example would be procrastinating to go out with a friend or taking a new class to get to your dreams. The other quote "This is the paradox that surrounds our quest for happiness: we know the things that will make us happy, but we don't always do them" to me means that even tho we know what makes us happy we will still procrastinate to do it and not be fully happy. I am one who does procrastinate to do things, I procrastinate on school work and chores and even events and activities. I know that some of these things I procrastinate on would make me happy but yet I still do it and I am looking to change that.
2) When we are little we always want the new and fun things, we always want that new toy or those new cool shoes or that new popular video game. We do this because we are trying to fill a whole in us that to me is desire. Humans always desire things no matter what age but as you grow up those things change. When you're a kid you want the new cool and popular items, you want these things and you get them and it'll work for a week but then you'll want more because it didn't fill that hole. That hole stays till your teen years then you start to look more towards people. As a kid you have many friends but when you're a teen you start to learn that the right friends matter, so you start looking for the ones that make you happy, that you have fun with, that you can trust on. You look for these friends because they make you feel good and because they make you feel good you think its going to fill the hole yet again but it still stays. In your adulthood you look more towards accomplishments and money to fill that hole that stayed but it still wont fill that hole for desire but it wont work. Humans have a huge hole for desire that will never get filled because its to big. But to fill that hole you have to fight the desire for things and let all of life or god fill that hole of desire.
3) My best days start with me sleeping in. My best days and probably everyones else's best days require rest and I like to achieve that by sleeping in. My best day is when I get to wake up and hang out with my nephew and my family and we get go to places with him that neither of us have never been before. Last summer is a good example of one of my best weeks even. My brother and nephew came and met us in Calgary where we stayed and we got to hang out and see a bunch of cool things and do a bunch of fun things, we got to go to the top of mountains in Banff and a cool museum in Banff as well, we got to go on cool rollercoasters and other fun rides. Those days are the best days for me when I just get to adventure around and try new things and to do that with my family and to see my family that lives 15 hours away. Another one of my best days is when its just me and my dad hanging out. My dad and I get along so well and we have the same interests that its always fun and he can always teach me new things. A great example of this is again last summer it was just me and my dad out at our campsite for a week and we got to do many fun things and things that we both like and enjoy. My best days are always with my family, thats when all of us seem to be the happiest and have the most fun and we all just enjoy the time.
4) "We can learn from an hour of silence then from a year of books" I both agree and disagree with this quote. I agree with this quote because if you sit in silence for an hour and just talk to yourself or watch the world around you then you'd learn more about yourself in that hour or the world around you in that hour other then a year from books. But I also disagree with this because if you are trying to learn something like math or physics then a hour of silence won't help but books will. I believe that there is a good difference in things that each side is good and bad for.
5) If I had one Sunday left I would spend time with my favourite people and do some super fun and new activities. It's such a cliche thing to say but I believe it should be spent with your loved ones being happy doing fun things. If I had to choose the activities I wanted to do it would be between going to a new country or go try something new such as skydiving. Out of all the activities I could chose from though I'd try my best to spend that time and those activities with my family and the ones I love. I am hungry for some Mc.Donalds, or a grilled cheese. These are answers that you'd usually get when you ask "What are you hungry for?", but you could be hungry for many things other then food. Hunger can be for materials, food, knowledge, and praise/feelings.
Film Study
Every company loves to get their items for as cheap as possible which might sound good from our end, but from the people making the items its terrible. Companies buy their items for cheep to save money and sell cheep so people will buy it. But buying these items cheep means that the gourmet workers aren't getting paid good money. Gourmet workers get paid very low wages, making around only$2 a day. These workers work in very hot and harsh conditions that could very easily kill them. We contribute to this by buying the cheep clothes, if we would stop buying those clothes and try to change how the companies think then we could get those workers to be paid fair.
